TG’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Mission Statement
Tempest Gatherings (TG) believes in creating and fostering events that are safe, respectful, inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to all attendees, volunteers, and presenters. We are committed to doing the needed work to create events where all participants feel welcome, valued, and represented. We strive to learn and continually improve our practices to ensure that our community remains open, representative, inclusive, and accessible to all attendees.
Towards this mission, some of our initial 5-year-plan work will be to:
-Seek out a diverse group of vendors and presenters/game masters
-Provide sign language interpreters for all Event-sponsored dinner entertainment
-Encourage and support community-led intentional gatherings for BIPOC, disabled, 2SLGBTQIA+, and other historically marginalized communities, as well as TNG (19-35 years of age) individuals
-Listen to community ideas and feedback with openness and our DEIA mission in mind
-Develop a scholarship fund
-Create an Incident Response Team that is independent of the Event Producers team
-Remain aware of and cautious about public health issues to support the entire community. Final decisions about testing or other public health measures will be decided closer to the event. If COVID-19 is surging, testing may be required with advanced notice to attendees. Proof of COVID vaccination (one base set plus at least one booster) is required.
If you need accessibility accommodations in order to attend the event, please contact us at connect@tempesthillgatherings.com with the title "Accessibility Accommodation Request" so it doesn't get missed! Note: On the Hotel Reservation from the Hotel website, there is a button option to specifically select an Accessible Room.
